Do you know about Google Places? I’m sure you’ve seen the results of local businesses when you search in Google with “pins” that show their location on the map. It’s a great way to list your local business to get more local search results and Google Boost builds upon that. The dry video below explains a little more about what Google Boost can do for you. Basically it’s a marriage of Google Places and Google AdWords but it’s really easy to setup. It’s a locally focused ad that displays above all of the regular “organic” search results. It displays much like the regular Google Places red pins but it has a blue pin and it allows you to add some ad text. It’s a Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising but you don’t have any setup except for your ad copy. Google handles where to show it, what keywords it should show for, and they allow you to set your maximum monthly budget. I’m trying it out with a $100 credit and it seems to be working well.
